Wabi Sabey Festival

of Rural Crafts and Textiles

Why Wabi Sabey? The Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi could be simplified as "Finding beauty in the imperfect" and Sabey is my maiden name so it seems a fitting substitute for Sabi.  Sustainability, conservation, upcycling and using environmentally friendly products are at the heart of what we do.

Demonstrations and activities for adults and children will run daily. These will include;

Mending, redesigning and embellishing clothing

Making nettle fibre

3D Art from upcycled materials

Iron Age Crafts

Monoprinting inspired by nature

Natural dyeing

Basket weaving

Wool Crafts

Hand embroidered gifts will be for

sale in aid of Sambhali Trust
